To Know or to Be
Description
A philosophical self-portrait of a person caught between knowledge and existence, the past and the next form of life. Inside a transparent chamber in a winter forest, he tries to understand whether anyone truly sees him.
Artistic meaning
The glass chamber becomes a laboratory, display case, memory, and boundary between the person and the outer world. Handless clocks remove the present moment, reflections reveal former and possible selves, and the raised hand asks the work’s central question: “Do you see me?”
